The HISTORICAL PARK
Take a walk back to the days of old at the Farmers Branch Historical Park. The 22-acre park touts the proud history of the city and North Texas, sharing and preserving our heritage for future generations.

Welcoming over 50,000 visitors each year, the park is like an outdoor museum offering many opportunities for tours, educational programs and special events. On the beautifully maintained grounds, guests can explore 10 historic structures dating from the 1840’s to the 1940’s. From the Gilbert House, which is the oldest structure still standing on its original foundation in Dallas County, to the old school house which dates to the early 1900s, visitors can experience what life was really like in the early days in North Texas. Also on the grounds are a church, train depot, several log cabins and a Victorian cottage with a beautiful antique rose garden, all of which are original structures that have been moved to the park and lovingly restored for our guest’s enjoyment.

The Historical Park is also home to two vintage baseball teams, allowing guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of a 19th-century baseball game and to see how America’s game has changed throughout the years.

Other attractions include a bird sanctuary, where visitors can take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful bird-friendly landscape, observing hummingbirds, butterflies and other furry friends in their natural habitat.

The Historical Park is a unique and beautiful setting, perfect for special events of all kinds, from corporate and private events to weddings and reunions. The park is also open for tours and hosts school and other visitor groups.
